Guitar Hero Songs Played on Expert

When my little brother (okay so he's fifteen, he will still always be my little baby) got "Guitar Hero II" and matching wireless guitar controller for PlayStation2 for Christmas, I couldn't understand what he was so excited about. Though I am a long-time player of "Dance Dance Revolution", I never gave notice to any other games that couldn't be played with a standard handheld controller. He hooked it up that afternoon and played his new game in front of me for months. I barely batted an eye until one boring winter day when I suddenly said, "Hey, let me try." Oh my God I was hooked instantly. I went out and bought my own the very next weekend.

It's not as easy as it looks (or doesn't look). All the controller consists of is a strum switch and five color-coded buttons that represent individual frets. When the colors appear on the screen in a streaming sequence, you have to hold down the corresponding color on the guitar and strum at the same time. I started out on Beginner mode and fumbled my way through rock songs such as "Mother" by Danzig, "Killing in the Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine, "Message in a Bottle" by The Police and about forty other hits. After keeping my hand glued to the red plastic guitar for the better part of a month, I moved past Beginner mode and was able to beat the game on Standard. While I still can't quite manage any songs on Expert, my brother (who plays guitar in real life, though that does not necessarily mean real guitar players are predisposed to excel at the game) certainly can.

After seeing him successfully complete several complicated songs while in Expert mode, I was beyond freaking impressed. Then he told me that if I wanted to see real talent, talent that far surpassed his own, I should watch these clips.

To give props to real life guitar players as well, here is an amazing video of a teenager playing the same song ("Canon Rock") on an electric guitar.

I can't wait for Guitar Hero 3 to come out. I've played both Guitar Hero games, though I prefer Guitar Hero 2 so far. Maybe your fans would like this link?http://hubpages.com/hub/guitar-hero-3
