Illustrated Guide to Navel Piercings
By becauseilive
A navel, or belly button piercing, passes through the rim of the navel. Although typically done just above the navel on the top ridge, belly button piercings can go anywhere around the outside of the navel wherever there is a fold or "lip". Navel piercings are fairly common, particularly among women, and almost every body type can be pierced in this location. The only exception is if the line your torso creates when you bend over runs directly through the belly button rather than up around the ribs. If this is the case, healing will be extremely difficult due to constant pressure and irritation and should probably be avoided. Traditionally, navel piercing are not the easiest to heal. I personally have had my belly button pierced twice; the first time, while in college, I ended up having to remove the ring due to an infection that occurred when I got really sick and my immune system decided to stop functioning properly. I later got it re-pierced. Out of all my piercings, however, I will say that the belly button is the one that gives me the most grief., frequently getting snagged on blankets and becoming irritated every time I am hit with a cold.
Navel piercings are usually done with a curved barbell and can take anywhere from 4 to 12 months to heal completely. Once healed, standard navel piercings can be changed out and replaced with captive bead rings or J-bars (which is a curved barbell in the shape of a J.) Navel piercings seem to be the body modification of choice among teenage girls, but it is important to keep in mind that wearing tight clothing can irritate the wound and prevent healing from occurring.
Navel jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes and can be purchased practically anywhere--up the mall, at Hot Topic, even down the shore. Many belly button rings include attachments such as butterflies, hearts or stars that adorn the jewelry by dangling down off the ring.
If you have an outie belly button, don't fret: it can still be pierced. When an outie is pierced it is called a true navel piercing. Rather than passing through the skin just above the opening, a true navel piercing goes through the belly button itself.
An inverse, or lower, navel piercing is a vertically placed piercing located on the bottom ridge of the navel.
A double navel is a combination piercing that involves a standard belly button ring paired with an inverse.
A deep navel is a similar to a standard navel piercing except that it passes through a much larger area of skin. Regular barbells will not usually fit in deep navel piercings.
A horizontal navel piercing is a surface piercing that passes horizontally above the ridge of the navel, rather than going through it. Because it is a surface piercing, it is especially prone to rejection. Rejection happens when the body does not take to the foreign matter that has been inserted. Instead of healing around it, the body attempts to push the jewelry out. Poor health can also contribute to rejection.
Another form of a horizontal is the double horizontal, two separate piercings on either side of the navel that are then joined with one long barbell.
Any stomach that contains one or more navel piercings may sometimes be called a multi-navel, or navel project. This can consist of any pattern of navel piercing and an array of body jewelry.
Belly buttons, just like ears, tongues and noses, can be stretched (also called gauging.) This is done by gradually stretching the piercing over time, coaxing it to hold thicker and thicker jewelry until you have achieved the desired size.

Only odd people get piercings like that.
Wow. Very interesting, cool hub. There's a lot more variation with this than I had realized!
I like your hub, I Love you
Dude "true navel piercings" are unsafe to get done.
You know I just can not see the attraction..
omg! this hub is really great..
i have my belly button pireced and its the best thing i have ever done befor my 17th birthday...
I have my belly button pierced, but no one can see it unless I lay on my back! Nice Hub by the way.
THIS HUB WAS GREAT!! It answered my biggest question
Hey..I recently got my belly pierced abought 4 weeks ago..and im just wondering how long the oringanl belly bar has to be in before i can change it to a different one..please reply as im going on holidays in 6 days and im hoping to get a new belly bar over there
:)
hiya i have had my belly button pierced for over a year now and the bottom hole has a red circle on it does this mean its infected please reply xx
I've had my belly button pierced for 6 years now. Within the first year or so it got infected. Since then, the skin around my belly button would dry up and flake off. This caused the outer part of the skin to become really thin. So thin that just yesterday the skin tore and my belly button ring fell out and now I'm left with little nubs of skin!! It doesnt hurt one bit, but it looks hideous!! Do you think the little nubs of skin will go away or do you think i'll have to get them surgically removed before I get it re-pierced?
i had my belly pierce for 2 times ,the lady who pierce for me she said it ok nothing worng with my belly ,it will be ok! a week later my belly gone black and it look like old grandny skin. i dont know what to do every night i just cry and cry. i don't know what to do anymore. someone can tell me?
whats a hub??
My friend had her belly button reject her piercing twice, she ended up with two little tenticles and it was freaky looking. She put neosporin on it all the time and eventually they just went away, there is still a scar but its flat now. Good luck!
Jessy: Visit your GP straight away, you either have an infection, or some idiot has put the wrong type of jewelry in you. It is also possible that you're allergic to your jewelry...it's impossible to tell without seeing it, but get yourself to your doctor as soon as possible.

hi
i had my belly button peirced when i was 10 and it didnt hurt so i f unsure about having it done go ahead its fine.
I WANT 1
DID YOUR MOM GET MAD AND YOUR DAD 2
Okay so I've gone to a bunch of tatoos places, and they said I can't pierce the top of my bellybutton, and if I pierce my bottom, I won't be able to wear belling rings with ike flowers or dangles on them will I?
hey there i had my belly pierced for my 16th birthday which was in spetmeber its no janruary following year and my belly bar has falen out the skin become so thin that it just fel out i was told to take my belly bar out and let it heal and tenre pierce it again i was just wanting to no how long it will take before it completley heals to get it repeirced
I have the same problem. I've had my done for about a year and it never properly healed was awlays dry and sore and red, and then latelty the skin was just getting thinner and thinner then tonight it just fell out, and left me with 2 dangly bits, which i find hideous, So i am hoping to be able to get the bottom done. Would this be wise though? I dont know :S
i got my belly button pierced 2 days ago. iv been cleaning it well but i keep catching it nd it reli hurts. how long does it stay sensative for n how long before u can change it?
bethany-leigh, If your belly button is getting caught on things then you can try putting a bandage over when you're not showing it off in a belly shirt. use a thin gauze and not a rubbery band aid so you can keep from smothering it. It might be tender for a few more days, and i would most definitely wait at least two weeks before you change it. but if you wear gloves or sanitize you hands well then you could probably change the balls. That's what i did.
Ive had my belly pierced for about two and a half years now and its still pretty and in tact. WOOT!
I have just recently gotten my belly button pierced. But ever since it's been it, it's be red, and flaking off my skin. Is that a problem, or is that just something you go through in the first few weeks?
I'm sorry if this comes out dumb, but, I am 13, and i am getting my belly button pierced, probably by myself. I don't know.
And u know i'm not afraid of needles. I'm good with needles too, but i want to do it by myself.
What ointment should i use? Can i use neosporin? and some schools do not allow you to have your belly piercing in P.E.? They either say you need a plaster or something like that.
what is a plaster please tell me somoene, please i might do this tonight.
Ok, all of you dummies that can't figure out why the skin has gotten thin and your harware fell out: It's because you are wearing big, heavy, obnoxious barbells. If you hang 8 ounces of metal off of a cm of skin, what do you think its going to do? So, put away your dangling flowers, stars, whatever and just wear a normal barbell.
i had my navel pierced 3 wks ago an it didnt hurt 1 bit it was only red for the first couple days right now it just a little tender cant wait 2 change the ring
.dose that hurt
DON'T EVER PEIRCE YOUR BELLY BUTTON YOURSELF!!!!
it can turn out horribly and hurt like crap because of all of the nerves that are above your belly button. just wait to get it peirced i peirced my own about six months ago, i was pushing the needle through for hours and then i had to STRETCH it myself. it was one of the most painful things i've ever gone through. its perfectly fine now but don't do it yourself i've heard that people die from that.
Just wanted to let you guys know, the most important thing you can do with a navel piercing is to ask a professional. They know what they are doing! You can really really hurt yourselves and young ladies be patient about changing the rings. You need to keep in in for at least 4months before you change it. When the skin is getting thinner and your ring falls out, your piercing is getting whats called rejected. It is the body's natural way of fighting off harmful things. (it doesn't know you put it there on purpose and treats it as a puncture wound with a forien object trapped in it) Make sure you are not allergic to the jewlery and do NOT use any kind of cream like bactine or neo wash it one time a day. Keep it dry use a salt scrub once or twice a day...leave it alone and let your body heal it..take care of your self sleep well eat well try taking a multi vitamin....take care ladies and good luck!
Okay, honestly, the depth of your piercing makes a huge difference. I've had mine done for months now, and it's a thinner surface, but if you take care of them they'll be fine. Don't wear big heavy rings, don't TOUCH IT, don't change it all the time, just wait and ignore it (but still clean it!) and then once it appears healed, THEN start showing it off.
Mine personally looks shallow but it's still not rejecting cuz I take care of it.
It's not rocket science.
I "m fourteen and me and my friend are getting ours done in a couple weeks. but we wanted to do it right before spring break so we could walk around on the beech and stuff with it in. is that a good idea? and will it look weird to get it pierced on the bottom, cause most people get it done on the top. and DOES IT HURTTTTT?!
Actually, that's hurt, but if you really like piercing, do it once for all your live. Because that's not good for your health, i recommended to fix your health periodic. This is just my best suggest for you to keep your live healthy and happiness
I had mine done about 6 weeks ago. I've had a few problems.. You can over wash it, and it will dry out if you do that. So only wash it in the morning and at night. And don't be afraid to ask a professional, they wont turn you away. I've gone to the same tattoo parlor twice now to ask about it to see if everything is fine. That guy has helped me alot both times, so if you have any questions, no matter how simple they are, just call or stop in to a local tattoo place.
ew............
i wanna get my belly buttom pierced this week and my dr. recommended that i get a hepatitis shot! so after that shot im gna wait a couple of days and then get it done! i play basketball year round..will that affect my belly buttom ring? because i dnt want it to be uncomfortable after it heals!
i did it...yay!!!
ive had my bellybutton pierced for over 10 years now. with a notmal barbell and balls it never gets snagged or caught. the only time i had an issue was when the bottom was a 3 piece lizard. it got caught alot. till the color wore off and the lizard broke lol. if it ever starts to turn pink/red lay on your back for 15 min with a glass of salt water upside down over the piercing. i cant speak about how chlorine would effect it but if you wanna swim before its healed swim in the ocean it accualy helps it heal
i GOT MA NAVEL PIERCED 3 TIMES!! The reason being that..i am allergic to surgical steel....so the 3rd time i used taitanium ring and its perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have 19 piercings on my body right now however......... only 3 of them have been done professionaly. i have been doing all of my piercings myself simply with a needle...... no infections, problems.... nothing. ive done my belly, chest, 11 in my ears, nipples, and one other :).... i had my first set of earings done profesionaly as a kid and my tounge done last year.
(Mandyyy)...... Answer to your question. no getting the bottom of your belly actually hurts less than the top. i pierced the bottom of mine because its different. its good to be different hun. good luck 2 yourself and your friend :)
Heyy im 13 and i really want mine done i want my done but i dont know if my mam will let me can you help me i want my mam to say yes please please help me!! and yes im english!! =]
I've had to get both my top and bottom belly button piercings redone (stink piercers doing them crooked etc) twice but I have to say that I love my bottom one the best. I think it's way more flattering and sits way better than the top one. It's also less common which is an attractive aspect.
ok, for what I've read here most of you are quite stupid...
1. YOU SHOULD NOT PIERCE IT YOURSELF!! And definately not w/ a safetypin. If you want to fuck your body up, go ahead, its not my problem when it gets infected.
2. If your ring 'suddenly' falls out it means its rejected. You should know those sorts of things when you're getting a piercing. If it gets infected you should NOT take it out...
3. t's not recommended to swim w/ your piercing till its fully healed, that could be up to a year. It's also not smart to 'tape' your piercing waterproof since it needs air...
4. If mommy said no cuz youre not even 14 then no is no. First learn how to take care of a piercing, show some maturity, look up what could go wrong and what should be normal after pierced etc. Its not just getting a needle through and you got some pretty jewlery hanging on your tummy ¬¬
5. Any questions about your shit, crying doesnt make it go away, just go and see a/your piercer. If it gets infected or rejected you could end up w/ some nasty scarring.
Think, read, and look up before you poke a hole -,-
To Jay 1 yes some of the people on here should go and resurch it and to if you were aiming the "if your not 14" bit at me then i live in england and i can get it done and my mammy said i can get it done.
Also to the people who are putting the same questions that people have already asked and have been answed learn to read and look up everything that could go wrong. Also dont ware big jellwery your body will reject it !!! thats all i got to say!
hey im ten years old and my mom SUGESTED! that i poke holes in my navel. but im worried abot flaking bledening and other crap. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got my navel pierced in april ,& it got infected ,which many do when not taken care of properly ,I will admit i didnt good care of mine ,I just figured if i left it alone it will heal ,but you must clean it once or twice a day ,no more no less .cleaning it more tends to make the skin dry ,cleaning it less, well it will more then likely get infected .I waited three months before changing mine ,but i only changed it because it was healed ,it takes differnet amounts of time for different people .I just suggest you keep it in untill the redness & irratation goes away ,& what im going to do is keep simple bars & such in for about a year .& i also dont advise you to get it done right before the summer ,cause you never know how infected it might get .which is why i got it done months before .good luck to all !
I've had mine done for two years and it's never been infected, If you clean it twice a day and don't continuously touch or play with it while it's healing it shouldn't get infected. And continue to clean it. Also tight clothing isn't good for it, it can irritate it and may lead to infection. My sister has had to get it done twice, both times her body jected it. The skin started pealing where the bar was under the skin. And it's not because your not taking care of it, it's just because your body is pushing it out like it would a splinter. And getting it doesn't really hurt but it's different for everyone so you won't really know until you do it. And my advice is to definitely have a professional do it, that way everythings sterile! And it will have a less chance of infection and they actually know what their doing. And I did a bunch of research before i got mine done but your not supposed to tan, or swim for 2 weeks after you get it done. I learned that from my piercer. And also you shouldnt change it for a couple months, i waited three. And now whenever i change it i spray a little Bactine* on it and move the bar up and down bc i used to share my belly rings with my sister.
*Bactine is what my piercer recommended to spray on it. It's a pain-free numbing/cleansing spray and it can be found at most drug stores, i got mine at Walmart.
Hope this helped, good luck :)
A lot if not all of your picture are stolen from BME. I sincerely hope you got their permission to use them.
I got my Belly done two days ago, played netball the next day and its fine!! It looks awesome and i cant wait for it to heal a bit more so i can get the bottom done. Ever since i got my nipple done 3 weeks ago ive been adicted to piercings, they rock!! My parents dont know about any of them. The main thing is just to keep them clean, and get the checked by professionals regulary. As long as you keep them clean, you'll be all good.
youu can go swimming straigh after well... its best to wait a few days.
you cannot swim right afterwards!
well, ive had tons of experience with navel piercings, i've had it done 5 times!
Thie first, I was only 15 and my parents did not know, however, it WAS done professionally, but i would like to say, piercings as a minor in that area may not heal well or may reject because your body is not fully grown! Alot of ppl suggest waiting till your 17 or older, cause you'll be grown. but there is an alternative if you are TOO YOUNG FOR A PIERCING: go to bodysparkle.com and they have "fake belly rings" kinda like clip ons, and they have dandly ones and sparkly ones and they only cost 7 bucks! you can get it custom for you body!
also, a good way of cleaning is H2Ocean spray $10.00 has 60 natural elemnts to help heal
rejection, mine has reject 4 times, the first time was because of care, i was told to was with peroxide NOT GOOD..but all times were with a surgical steel 14ga so this time I tried a titanium wich contains NO NICKEL, just in case i was sensitive to the other metal, and I also upped the guage to a 12g. There has been a theory such as its easier for your body to push out somthing smaller, and i can always go back to a 14g and you will not feel a size difference. so if your rejecting up ur gauge clean it use anodized titanium...to see what happens
ewww. those outty piercings are disgusting.
W.O.W iM GLAD i CAME TO THiS SiTE CAUSE i MiTE GET MiNE DONE FOR MY 15TH BiRTHDAY NEXT MONTH AND I GOT SOME SCARES AND iNSPiRATiONS SO THANX EVERYONE LOL XSPECIALLY JAY ♥ LO
ok, my belly ring is ssoooo awsome. i got it done for my14th Bday. oh and MY DAD STILL DIDN'T FIND OUT THAT I GOT IT PIERCED!!!!!!hehehe. but sooner or later he will find out........
eso es una pura loke
I got my belly button pierced about 2 years ago when i was fourteen. I was really scared when the piercer was setting up the supplies. When it was time i felt like i was gonna throw up. I closed my eyes then in 1,2,3 it was done. It felt weird but painless. I cleaned it 2 times a day for like 2 weeks then i stopped cause it looked like it healed then a month later i changed it. Soon after it got infected because i wasent cleaning it and i changed it too soon. I started cleaning it again for about a few more months after and it healed beautifully. Now is looks awesome and i change the bar all the time =]
i got mine done when i was eleven.many people think its too young but i loved it and i still have it done now, and im 14i never cleaned it at first, and it got infected so i had it done again when i was 12,but now i clean it all the time- and its lovely! i love showing it off
I had my belly button pierced about 10 months ago now, and it appears to have healed, should i still be cleaning it?? I used surgical spirit to clean it before but it took the shine off my belly bar as it is very strong so if you want to keep the shine on your belly bar i would advise you used boiling, salty water. also, using warm water is bad, it might as well be cold, always use boiling water.
I got my belly button pierced in April 2007. I was 14 I told my mom that I wanted one. Her immediate answer was no. I got on the computer, and did research to persuade her. If youre trying to convince your parent to let you get it pierced, you should research:
-common problems/dangers
-how to take care of it/aftercare
-healing time & how to speed the process
-local piercing parlors
Once you do that, you should call the piercing places you found and ask the following questions:
-How much will it cost?
-Does that include the body jewelery?
-Do you take credit cards?
-Do you reuse your needles? (if they say yes, DO NOT GO THERE)
-Do I have a choice to be pierced by a man or woman?
Find out the hours the piercing places are open and write them down along with the Q&As.
When I approached my mom with a notepad of Q&As, she took me WAY more seriously and said she will take me to get it done.
A few things I learned that may help you ...
--When I got it pierced, my piercer said that when I shower, I should clean it with antibacterial hand soap. Rinse it well so no soap is left behind because that can irritate the piercing.
--My piercer also recommended Bactine. I used Bactine whenever I touched the ring, if it hurt, and once in the morning. It's a spray that is pain-free (as mentioned in an earlier post). It didnt dry my skin out, but I didnt O.D. with it.
--The sun is good for your new piercing!! The sun makes you produce more of the vitamin (I think its vitamin K or D)that helps your body absorb calcium. Calcium is great for your immune system, and if you have a strong immune system, your piercing is less likely to get infected.
--My belly started to have pus come out..not a lot, just a small amount that would crust around the balls of the ring. Pus is your body's way of cleaning it so it doesnt always indicate an infection. Cleaning it more thoroughly can dry it out I found that tea tree oil works wonders. After I cleaned it, I would lay on my back and put the oil all around the piercing for 5 or 10 minutes. I'd slide the bar up and down to get the oil in the piercing. That REALLY speeded up the healing process.
My bellyring never really gets stuck or caught on anything. The only time it gets stuck is when I wear a really long ring that gets stuck on my belt or pants when I sit down.
So my mom took me to the Ravens Nest in Norwalk CT (GREAT PLACE WITH PROFESSIONAL PPL) she had to fill out some paperwork (because I was 14). I picked out a ring for 10 more dollars (which I realized was dumb because I picked out a $1 plastic beaded bellyring--just get the regular barbell thats included with the price). When all the paperwork was filled out, the lady was like "okay come with me."
She led me to the back room where all the piercing is done. She told me to stand up straight and she did 2 dots--where the needle would go in & come out. I layed down on a brown dentist-like chair. She got all the tools out, which looked kind of scary at the time. She clamped where she was going to pierce and asked if i was ready... when she first pushed the needle through, I felt it but it didnt hurt. I thought she didnt pierce it all the way because I was expecting a pop sound, or pain or SOMETHING. I looked down and saw a needle going right through the skin. She put the ring on the end of the needle and as she pulled the needle out she pushed the ring in. I didnt feel a thing and it looks GREAT.
AFTER I got it pierced, I found that i could still lay on my stomach, but it felt weird. It didnt hurt, it just felt like it wasnt supposed to be there, but thats the ONLY time I ever felt it..it didnt hurt, I just FELT it. After about 2 or 3 months, I no longer felt it when I layed down.
I have had my navel pierced for 2 and a half years and I've never had a problem. I love it and I'm going to get it pierced again (on the bottom this time) soon.
I hope my story helps at least 1 person!
Piercing Outies is Grooossss! Sorry to say. I guess maybe that is all you outies could do...
it looks so kool but does it hurt?jajaja
it looks so kool but does it hurt?jajaja
Why does it take so long to heal? I'm getting the navel project this week is it going to hurt like really bad?
im 13 and i just got mine pierced on the top like 3 hours ago. im not going to say it doesnt hurt at all but ill give it a 4\10 in pain, before i got it done i was really scared which was worse than the actual piercing itself. you have to get the proper cleaning supplies from your piercer and dont use anything not on the list. however it isnt mandatory to clean it, just recomended. you cant go swimming for the first 6 weeks and no the ocean does NOT help it heal. you should clean it for the first 6 months, and thats also how long you need to wait before you change it. please people dont peirce it yourself unless your trained or something, i can imagine a lot going wrong. if you read some of the comments before me, please dont let the horror stories scare you out of getting this peircing. its really pretty and as long as you take care of it, it will most likely be fine.
all of the info is from the little booklet thing i got from HTC the place i went to get it done.
So I have had to get my belly pierced 3 times (by a professional) and each time the piercings were rejected. I can tell you exactly what I did wrong each time. The first time the piercing got infected because I would touch it all the time without ALWAYS washing my hands first. My body rejected the barbell til it just fell out leaving some tentacle looking thing...but that went away slowly and I was left with a scar. I also changed it way before I was supposed to. You ARE supposed to wait 4 to 6 months (maybe longer depending on you unique body). I was told by my first piercer that I could change it within the first month! and that is what I did. I was 18 when I got it done the first time. The second time I was 19 and my body rejected the ring simply because I would wear tight clothing. See when you wear tight clothing it constantly pushes the top of the barbell down and the bottom part (which is supposed to stay in your navel) up. so the skin going over the bar that is meant to keep your piercing in gets smaller and smaller til it just cant hold the piercing in anymore. The third time (I was still 19) I got it done with a ring instead of a barbell which was a huge mistake. DO NOT wear any tight clothes if you have a ring on especially!!! the rejecting happens much faster because the ring gets squished up next to your skin on its side. the ring IS alot easier to clean since you have acces to the entire ring when you rotate the piercing while you clean it. Still alot more professional Piercers recommend getting it done with the barbell.
The one mistake that I made all three times was NOT being PATIENT! because I wanted so bad to show it off and wear really pretty dangly jewelry I would change it out too soon!So to all you young ones out there lol Just please BE PATIENT with your body and anything you put in it or on it.
I have recently (last week) gotten my belly button pierced for the fourth time and I am 22. I bought some nice shirts that fit me loosely in the stomach area. I do not touch my piercting unless my hands are CLEAN. I use WOUND WASH SALINE that I bought from the pharmacy ( it was recommended to me by my new piercer) and soak it once a day. I also soak my piercing once a day with non- iodized sea-salt in warm water. Slight heat is good for healing because it opens up blood vessels which allows more blood to get to the area around your piercing. This means more oxygen is supplied to the cells that are trying to heal your wound, which is how your body views the piercing.
I also wash my piercing once a day with PROVON (recommended anti bacterial soap that is made to take care of new piercings and is recommended by the Association of Professional Piercers). SATIN is another brand of Antimicrobial soap that is recommended by the Association. I bought mine off Ebay but there are sites that sell these products online too. I will also wait for at least a year to change my piercing no matter what. I will NOT get into any body of water for like 5 months and even then I will use a waterproof band-aid. Remember that even though the salt in the sea makes it really tough for bacteria to grow there, in Sea water there are fishies and if there are fishies there is fish poop which will not be great for your piercing! lol Sea water itself is good. That is why the sea salt water soaks are good for your wound. Do not swim in any lakes or rivers since bacteria flourish there and the Chlorine in swimming pools is a chemical that may be too harsh for your healing piercing.
I advise alot of you to do your research. Every one has different approaches to how you should clean and take care of your piercing....my advice. Read all the aftercare online stuff you can and pick out what is best for you. I picked out the things that made the best sense in that I wanted to treat my piercing like a wound. Wounds need oxygen and to be clean in order to heal. Remember there is such a thing as over cleaning which dries up the skin.
This time I think everything will turn out ok...Good luck!
hey guys..i took my belly bar out for a month but i had it done 2yrs ago..but it wont go straight back in does this mean its closed up??
look forward 2ur replys!
i had my belly dun couple weeks ago ive been usin salt water and vodka n surgical spirit works very well
i got my bottom and top belly pierced and im 14 and it didnt hurt at all and i Love ehh and im getin the sides done Soon :)
@Celiaa
that happened to me too. i think eventually they'll go down a little bit, but they won't disappear completely. mine are still there. the second time i went to go get my belly button pierced, the lady told me to put aloe vera on it because it'll eat the scar tissue. [[that's a lie]] i tried it & it won't work. but if i were you i wouldn't get your belly button done again because 1, it'll REALLY hurt. 2, it could happen again. and 3, it's not worth it.

i had my belly pierced 7 years ago when i was 10. I had the bottom done a few weeks ago. There both fine! No it doesn't hurt!! Just clean them religiously with something like spray on savlon ( a anti-bacterial wound wash) or just use warm salt water and do it about 3-4 times a day! And the white ring around it is called a healing ring..its a good sign so don't try and pick or rub it off!!
I have had my belly button pierced twice. The first time it rejected after two weeks. Then I had to wait eight months to re-pierce it. Now its been over a year and its still trying to heal. Its not infected and im irritated with it because the piercing is down deep and I cant find any belly button rings that fit now!
I've just gotten my belly repierced again. I clean it everyday. But a couple weeks later my skin became thin and
I can see that my belly button is going to fall off. I'm scared that if i clean it the skin is going to get even thiner and my belly button ring is going to fall out. What should I do?
I just repierced my belly button a couple months ago. I
cleaned it everyday but a couple weeks later my skin started to get thiner and thiner and my ring fell out.
What should I do for my next piercing? Should I tell tell them to go more into my skin? Now I have ugly scar tissue
on my belly button.
okay. well. i got my belly pierced, by a friend that has done it like three or four times, and didn't have prong thingyys to hold my skin, and it doesn't go through my belly button, though it does look like it. i dont know if i should just take it out or leave it in, and wait and ask if i can get it professional later. I'm 15, and should have waited, I know that now, but i do like it, but i want it to actually go through my belly button, so what hshould i do?
hey listen, my belly button piercing was infected for 8 months before i heard of h2ocean. that stuff worked wonders. :) you might want to try it
Im 15 and I really want to get my belly pierced. I went to the piercing shop and they really scared me about the growing out thing. But surely if you clean it everyday and look after it shouldn't happen? Also surely if it starts looking like it will get rejected, you would just take it out? And if you take it out before any major rejection will there be scarring?
I wouldn't get it repierced if it rejected but i really dont want scarring
PLEASE HELP ASAP
thanks xx :)
to: jenna im 17 and i have had mine pierced sine i was 13 yes keeping it clean will keep it healthy unless your body is not used to it and reject it or infect it anyways butt be in mind that you MUST not clean it too much.. twice a day for the first two weeks then once a day for the rest your not supposed to clean it too much because it could dry it out in that case it could cause an infection, and if it starts looking like a rejection no do not just take it out you should go to your/a professional piercer and see if thats the problem and they will direct you on how to treat that and yes if you took it out most likley there would be some scaring depending on how your body reacts with it... but if your skin does great with piercings then most likely yull be fine when you get it done just keep it clean and DO NOT FOR ANY REASON touch the piercing with out washing your hands with anti bactireial soap first so any germs do not get onto it because that could cause serious infection i really hope this helped and i wish the best of luck for you :))
If you smoke, will it cause the healing process to heal slower? I got mines done 4 days ago and so far it looks great. The reason why I asked was because when I had my baby, I had to have a c-section and smoking caused my scar to look ugly instead of a thin white line. Also, how would you know when then healing is done? I know I'm supposed to wait 4 to 6 months before changing it but what if I am one of those persons who has to wait longer?
I had my belly button pierced 6 months ago. Well I was wearing just a normal barbell, not one of those long dangley ones, but I was laying on my stomach on my boyfriend's bed doing my homework on the computer, and well, the blanket snagged on my belly button ring and pulled it almost all the way out. I went straight to the professional that pierced it for me and asked him what I should do. he told me to take it out and let it heal and they'd re-do it. I now have a very red little scar. This happened a month ago, and it's still healing. I've been putting Neosporin on it and been cleaning it with ear piercing solution about once a day to help with the healing process. I guess what I want to know is how long it would take for it to completely heal?
hiya erm i had my belly done about 2 months ago and i changed it into a dangley one only today i noticed that the skin has gone thinner and thinner and im worried that if i wash it or put water on it, then the belly bar will fall out completely what should i do, im scared please HELP! :(
i had my belly button pierced and its a outie too. looks great and no pain at all and the ring covers the outie part because they pierced it above the skin. so guys if you have an outie you can get it pierced normally if you have enough skin around your belly button.
ok, i got my tummy pierced at the top, back in march and it rejected for no reason. i cleaned it but i may have changed the bar too soon.
i got it re done about a week ago, and its pierced through less skin than it was when i got it done, so im worried its rejecting again. to anyone else who has the same problem, its not your fault unless you think youre doing something wrong. im nearly fifteen, and if it falls through again, ima just wait till im seventeen and then get it re done... again :/
I first go my belly pierced when i was 13! I would not recommend this as your body is still growing and as you get taller the skin of piercing will stretch! this can lead to the skin becoming smaller and sore and then your body rejecting the piercing! (this what happened to me!)I got it re-pierced when i was 17! also try not to buy surgical steel or stainless still bars because these irriate the piercing! the best ones are titanium and silver! therefore the longer you wait the better and be careful at the bars you use :)
I hope this is useful :D
I got the top of my belly button pierced when I was fifteen. It wasn't a painful piercing to get - it's a bit uncomfortable having a clamp on your stomach and a needle going through your skin, as expected, but isn't actually painful. It hurts a bit afterwards, like if it gets caught on clothing, or just bending down or slouching when sitting for the first couple of days, but it's fine. It didn't get infected at all, but it took a year to heal! Some people just take longer to heal and I guess this applies to me - I had very few problems with it when it was healing. If you get it done and it goes a little (emphasis on little) crusty, or a little pus comes out of it, this is pretty normal! If it's a lot though, and is red and sore then it's possible it could be infected, but a little is normal initially. Admittedly, I could've cared for it better, but I didn't fiddle with it or touch it without cleaning my hands first. I used a small amount of sea salt with warm water in like a small 30ml medicine cup to clean it twice a day for the first couple months, then once a day for the next few, and with antibacterial soap in the shower until it had fully healed just giving it a salt water wash when it needed it. When it was sore I used Savlon wound spray or a Savlon cream - both were helpful to the healing process. Quite a few people I know have been told not to use Savlon, but it worked really well for me sooo...!
I got it pierced with a standard barbell, but it was too long for the amount of skin I had pierced so this probably contributed to the healing time. It catches and gets aggravated a lot less now I have a shorter barbell in it.
The piercing is a bit wonky, but it's not really noticable unless I point it out. I'm getting an inverse navel piercing soon and I'm very excited! But definitely not looking forward to healing it again ¬_¬
I went on holiday a month after I got it pierced and the hotel's pool was overly chlorinated one day which made the piercing a bit sore but other than that it was completely fine. I've had it done for two and a bit years now, and have had absolutely no problems with it since it healed!
But yeah, look after it, and make sure you get it pierced in a reputable place and it should be fine!
my b button peircing is red and i got it done about 2 1/2 weeks ago, theres no puss or anything, i clean it with warm water and soap, but i need for the redness to go away, it makes the peircing look unattractive, i need advice to make it less red and quick!?!?!?
Ay,
i think this was useful.
im getting the skin under my belly button done in about...
5 min. YAY!
im getting the normal one
in about two weeks, im ssoo excitedd! :DDDD
can anyone please tell me about the inverse belly piercing, im getting it tomorrow and would love some advice and stories if any of yous have any :)
x
Hey i got my belly button pierced about 3 days ago.
Im really hoping it doesnt get rejected i didnt realise it could to i read this stuff today!
My piercers advice & cleaning was to clean it with ANTIBACTERIAL soap in the morning when you have a shower & at night with SEA SALT not table salt disolved in warm water & let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Do this everyday for 2months after that just salt & warm water if you may. Its best not to go swimming if you do only clean beaches & wear a waterproof bandage in swimming pools because there is a lot of bacteria.
DO NOT PLAY WITH IT it can take from anywhere up to a year to heal everyone is different DO NOT CHANGE it til it is healed!!!! If it starts to get infected use sea salt & warm water soak once a day!
I hope this helped someone if you have questions you should call your piercer they know best they are the professionals!
One thing i want to know tho is how can you tell when it is healed???
i honestly think just a plain belly button peircing is normal . anything like multi peircing or sideways w.e is unattractive
No i like all belly piercings they are cool.....everyone on here seems to think u can not go swimming for like a year but i went swimming two days after geting mine cause i went on holiday and its great had it two years now and its perfect an i love it!!
Okay, can i get my belly button pierced without the circular ring? Can i get it done at first with a J shaped/straight ring? To me the circular ones are ugly. :d please help.
Hay ,
I got my belly pierced about 4 weeks ago and I have already changed the bar , at first it didn't go red Buht now its heaps red around the too holes :/ .
how can I make the redness go away and get it to hill ?
Someone please answer :( ??
if you are fat DO NOT GET ONE!
i got my belly button pierced in January. i took pretty good care of it, i changed it in like march and it got infected now its may and its completely healed, but the skin seems to be thinning and its definitely not infected so my body cant be rejecting it and i dont know what to do. I don't wanna take it out and get it repierced its almost summer.
If only "odd" people get them, that must make a large percentage of the female population odd.
You know, being "odd" is not necessarily a bad thing. It is the "odd" people that leave their mark, changing the course of history through advances in art, science, and philosophy.
I Like your post. Is it hurts...????
Nice body accessories....
This october I will have my bellybutton peirced for 1 year. Right now I have a gold dangle ib my navel and it is a little swollen and really red and it hurts really bad since I put it in. Help.me?
i had my belly button done 2 days ago and there is dried blood around the top part, should i pick it off?
I had mine done saturday. Connie you should be cleaning it.. Use salty water, and wash it whilst showering (have two a day) Don't touch it without sanitised hands, because you will get an infection. Try cleaning gently with tissue buds, not your hands.
And IF YOU ARE EVEN CONSIDERING DOING IT YOURSELF (previous comment) YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT MATURE OR SMART ENOUGH FOR THE PIERCING IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I got my belly pierced before and i cleaned it well and didnt play with it much but it kept getting really thin so i ended up taking it out after a couple months before it completely pushed itself out. It healed a couple weeks later but now the two holes kind of merged together and i have a little scar. Could i get it repierced you think? Theres not alot of skin right there though bc im skinny and the wholes merging make it skinnier... Helppppp i want it backkk
WOW I have my quad done and it has never been infected or fellin out maybe I am just lucky but my piercer knew what he was doing best of luck and NM, I was a cheerleader I got my top done at the beginning of the year and I went to practice a month later, so you should be fine
Heeellppp?? ^^^^
So I'm considering getting mine done but I want to be fully informed first, so I have some ?'s:
1. How long does it take until you can arch your back and it won't hurt the area around the piercing?
2. Does anyone who tumbles or does gymnastics have theirs pierced and if so, do backbends and backhandsprings hurt? Does front tumbling hurt?
3. Which is better, a normal or an inverse piercing?
4. How much does it generally cost
Im sorry to bother everyone, but i have had mine done for about a week now...but there are these two red patches around it and they wont go away? Is something wrong? It looks bad and idk what it means...?? Other than that, its great!
I am 14 and I got my belly pierced 9 months ago in janurary. I salt watered it and it went really good and healed until a month or two ago when the skin started to go dry and red. I started salt watering it again but nothing worked. I showed my mum and she was horrified as my body had been rejecting it. I went back to the place where I got it done today and they took it out. They said to salt water it with warm/hot water and message/compress it. It this supposed to get rid of the hole? If so, how much longer until I can get it repierced? Also there is scarring from when the jewel has moved, will that ever go away if I get it done again? Or will I always have a purple/red patch on my belly?
I had scars on my wrist from a piercing and they faded over time but they didnt go but when i got it repierced you couldnt even see the old scar. You just have to wait for it to heal and then the new one will hide the scar. Also if piercings start rejecting go the dr and ask for FUCIDIN cream its amazing all mine seem to reject but i use the cream and it stops after a few days. Im getting my second navel one soon im completely hooked on piercings ive had 19 done all together and definitely not ready to quit.
Paige 20.......what you are doing is going to heal up the hole. You should go to your piercer every month or so to see 1)if its healing right and 2)if you can get it pierced again. I siguest waiting at lease 4 months before getting it repierced. The scar will basically go away and what doesnt go away will be pinkish color. If you do get your bellybutton repierced it will cover up the scar but it will hurt a little more because the scar tissue is ruffer.
Also anyone could you please tell me....i have changed my bellybutton ring 4 months after getting it pierced. What are the chances of it rejecting?i tend to be a really fast healer.
So, my friend tried piercing her belly button with a 14g taper and it's starting to go in, not very much, but it's making somewhat of a dent. What are your opinions?
Relax and leave it alone plus take care of it the way your peircer told u to. and LEAVE IT ALOnE... Clean it and leave it.
I've had my belly button peirced for ten years now..I have to take it out for surgery (laproscopy) can anyone please tell me how long I can keep the piercing out before it closes?
Ok I was to bored to read all the comments but I am kinda chunky and my belly buttons has been pierced forr about 5 months now its been really red since I got it so I took it out and put neosporain on it with a bandage on it for the night to heal a bit..how long can I go before it closes
blahhhh- Don't use Neosporin. You need to soak your piercing with warm sea salt water. You need to buy sea salt and put 1 teaspoon of it in 8 ounces water. Heat it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds and put it in a shot glass or small container. Lean forward, put the container or shot glass over your piercing and carefully lay down so you don't spill it. Soak for 15 minutes. Do that 3 times a day until it heals. That's what any piercer would recommend as the same thing happened to me and I did the sea salt soaks and now my piercing is completely healed. Never use Neosporin and band aids, they will just increase the healing time of your piercing.
I'm 15 and would like my belly pierced, but I do gymnastics which I love and am not prepared to give up. Will doing gymnastics irritate/rip the piercing? I'm worried about things like backflips because you bend your back so much, which stretches the stomach skin. Also, if it will irritate it, will it just be while it's healing (how long?) or forever? One more question, sorry! I have read that you shouldn't wear tight clothes - is this just while it's healing or whenever you have a belly bar in? Thanks!
i just got my belly button pierced about four weeks ago, and around my belly button its starting to get really sore. has this happend to anybody else, and if so what does it mean ?
@arianaa1997 - Besides being sore, do you have any other symptoms? Is the skin around the piercing red or oozing pus or anything? I have more info on what to do if the navel piercing gets infected here: http://becauseilive.hubpages.com/hub/What-To-Do-Wh
Hope that helps!
right, the people who say your navel piercing is not rejecting because you take care of it...
the amount of care you give it doesn't excuse the reason for your rejection.
having a metal bar in our body is completely foreign to it, it doesn't know it was put there intentionally.
and if the skin is getting thinner, doesn't necessarily mean it's rejecting.
and i highly do NOT recommend getting your navel repierced if it does reject, keep in mind that however many times you repierce it, it will always reject and just leave numerous skars on your body and will make it look quite tacky
its not fully healed in 4 months. I got mine done by the best guy in BC, before you change your navel peircing, it should be seasoned. With the litteral meaning of seeing all the seasons, wait a year for the best relults.
Okay all of you stupid people piercing them yourselves - have fun with an infected mound above your bellybutton. All of you impatient people changing them after 2 weeks - DON'T. Don't try and rush nature. You've just stuck a piece of metal through your skin that really isn't supposed to be there. Give it time. I don't really believe in trying to speed up healing with creams etc. Even if you think it's healed and it looks healed, wait a good 6 months. I got mine done and didn't change it for almost a year. I've never ever had a problem, it hasn't rejected at all, hasnt thinned out, never flaked.. All of these problems everyone's talking about are probably ALL due to long stupid dangling heavy jewelry that was put in after 3 weeks. I got mine done with a simple 2 ball barbell. I washed it with saltwater and a little studex (which was recommended to me by my piercer and is a gentle antibacterial solution) and LEFT IT. You don't need little dangly crosses and butterflies hanging from your navel while your body is trying to accept that there is now a metal bar sitting through your skin. As for the question about swimming, Your piercer SHOULD have told you that salt water is very good for it, go swimming in the ocean as much as possible! Chlorine? NO. public swimming pools or any swimming pool really, are not a good idea for the first month. I hope even a little bit of this what I thought was common sense has gotten through to you :)
I am fourteen and REALLY want to get it pierced. I go on winter break in 3 days and then have two weeks off from school until i return to my cheerleading activities. Is it 2 weeks long enough for it to heal if i take extra good care of it and wear loose clothing? Please respond. a lot of peoples comments arent answered. mine NEEDS to be!:)
@CHLOE - Even if you take excellent care of your piercing, it still will not be fully healed until after 4-6 weeks. No matter what you do you can't speed up your body's healing time. After 2 weeks it will still be very tender, and with all the bending over and twisting and turning that comes along with cheerleading, I'd think very carefully before getting it done at this time. Getting hit or elbowed in a freshly pierced area does NOT feel good!
im getting my belly button pierced in 6days.
I think my biggest worry is how much it hurts. Everyone says it dosent hurt but i got my ears pierced and that hurt is it anything like the same?
And how long does it take to heel?
can someone answer ASAP please :)
I'm getting an inverse navel piercing today. I've had the top for about 2 & 1/2 years and I've never had problems with it. Is the bottom more prone to rejecting?
Lol. To all of you saying "omg you can't swim with it until its healed' you have a shower every day don't you and it gets wet there? I got mine done about 5 weeks ago and for the first like two days it was so sore but after that it was fine. I do cheerleading and it doesn't hurt or anything. It hasn't even healed yet but its still fine. I've been swimming heaps it doesn't even matter. Just make sure you go to a professional in my opinion it's better when it';s a girl that already has theirs done :)
@ ames, it is like a really bad pain but only for a second. Like no shit it is only a second. And you don't know when its coming so its just like ouch for a second then its over i promise :)
@Chloe. I got mine done on a friday and the following thursday i ahd cheerleading. It doesn't heal in a week but it stops hurting in like 3 or 4 days. Just wear a breathable plaster on it at cheerleading and you will be fine :) and take extra care not to bump it. But definatly don't take it out until its healed x
To all you people that say when it's rejected it's your body or whatever. When it falls out it's because your growing taller and the skin gets thinner as you grow up and it dometimes just pops out. This generally only happens when your under sixteen cause you haven't properly grown
I just got mine done a week ago today, my mom thinks I could be illergect to the bar bell bc it is red, but it doesn't hurt and the skin is getting crusty and it hasn't gotten crusty since the first day I got it..but we both kno it could be this skin "dieing" which is naturally gonna happen as it heals but neither of us are sure which situation I'm in. So I attempted to change it to a plastic one but the balls are too tight and I can't get them off, what should I do??
Hey
I'm 15 && I want my belly button pierced sooooo extremely baddd! My friends sister is going to school to be a pro at piercing, she's pierced soooo many people's bellys, even my friendds && none of them have had problems.. So, she's doing it for me later on before dinner today, && I'm super nervous. My mom does NOT know I'm doing this... Where can I get this saltwater or wherever to keep it from getting infected or rejected... That's my biggest fear.. & I have realllly bad anxiety so, can my anxiety cause me to faint when I pierce it? Need answers, ASAP por favor! (please) (:
Ash:
Make sure yu hav sugar in yur system when yu get it done and if yu pass out get some mnt dew and m&ms..
Some suggestions out there from experience:
1. Choose your piercer CAREFULLY. I made the mistake of going to someone that had years of experience doing it WRONG, and it caused a lot of problems with the piercing that I eventually took out. Look for someone experienced with a license. Look at reviews on the piercer/place
2. WAIT to change it your piercing until it has healed. The more you change it, the worse it can get! Leave it alone until its healed.
3. Be committed to cleaning it. I just got mine repierced not too long ago, and I have had no problems. Sea salt and antibacterial soap 2x a day is working for me, but your piercer will give you instructions on what to do.
4. STAY away from pools, they are infested with chemicals that will dry out your skin and bacteria that will cause an infection. If you absolutely have to, clean it right after with sea salt or anti-bacterial soap
5. DONT overclean it. Stick to 2-3 times a day, but personally 2x is enough for me. Your body needs to build up a defense against germs, and overcleaning it can agitate it and make things worse.
Hope this helps! :)
Okay, so most of you are stupid. If you have problems with your piercing why the fuck are you on a forum? Go to your piercer and ASK. That is there job! That is what you paid them for. Bellybutton piercings are actually LESS dangerous than many others..ie: tongue, lip, nose...You must stay out of the water for a MINIMUM of two weeks. This includes: pool, hot tub, ocean, bath. SHOWERS only. As bath tubs harbor bacteria and you're sitting in you're own filth. Don't play with the jewelry. Do NOT change your jewelry for 8-12 weeks as it can cause the new hole to become inflamed and irritated. If you have sore-ness and it's red take IBUPROFEN. It will help the swelling. Which is common for the first few weeks after a piercing. Wash it 1-2 times daily with ANTIBACTERIAL soap(dial, the orange bottle) NO SCENTED SHIT! When cleaning it use Q-tips and slide the jewelry up and down to make sure the soap gets into the wound. OR you can clean it with warm water and SEA SALT using the SAME method! Make sure your sea salt solution has a 9:1 ration of salt to water. You can soak it up to three times daily with no irritation. NOT table salt as table salt has IODINE. Many tattoo parlors carry something called H2Ocean. Which is purified sea salt solution. This doesn't mean go swim in the ocean because it heals. That is NOT true in any sense. THE OCEAN HAS PLENTY OF HARMFUL BACTERIA DUE TO SEWAGE RUNOFF etc etc. Chlorine is a no-go for piercings as well. HEAVY jewelry will cause your bellybutton to stretch and possibly reject. Which it could reject on it's own as well. And last but not least NEVER DO A PIERCING ON YOUR OWN. There a trained professionals for a reason. Like hitting a nerve and causing nerve damage permanently. Hope this helps some of you since the majority are children and clueless.
I'm thinkin about getting a piercing....does it hurt and how long do I have to stay out of water
I got mine done yesterday, the clamp didn't hurt but I could feel the needle that hurt a little. Now it hardly hurts
kk, ive read heaps of comments saying that the skin has become so thin that the piercing has fallen out because theyre 'stupid' for wearing heavy dangly bars or not caring for it properly....its migration, and it happens to most surface piercings, basically its unavoidable, it doesnt matter how well you look after it
-and also with red bumps and swelling, i found that holding/running warm water over it or holding something warm can help reduce and eventually clear :)
hope this helped anyone :) ???
i want my navel pirced my mumm sed next year i cant wait that long wat to do
So I'm getting it done today..does anyone know what it looks. Like after 30 days?
Im 13 and imma get my piercing tommorow im hypeed ! :) but my mom not gonna find out
I've had my naval pierced for nearly 5 months and its amazing, no problems at all. Little bit sore to begin with. Healing time does depend on your body. Mine took 2 months :D
Im doing mine myself, as long as you know what your doing and are sanitary then it shouldnt be aproblem. Ive done 3 otger piercings myself, one was my cartilage (with a safety pin) it wasbtotally fine, just keep your piercings clean, save money and do it yourself (if you have the right materials and research)..
I got my navel piercing a few days ago and it was done and over with in less than 60 seconds. I felt a little pinch, then a pull. That was it! It didn't change color until yesterday. The top is starting to turn pink. Is this normal? The guy told me, for all those who wanna know,
1, DON'T USE ANYTHING BUT ANTIBACTERIAL HAND SOAP to clean it.
2, Wait 6 weeks before changing it to a different 316L piercing.
3, Wait 6 months before changing to anything other than 316L. (ex. 316, 925 Silver, etc)
The federal government has regulated jewelry for new piercings. ONLY 316L, which is implant grade surgical stainless steel, not just surgical stainless, can be used. The "L" stands for low carbon. It also contains less nickel,(the most common cause of allergic reactions).
Just F.I.Y.
i got mine for Christmas last year. i've had it for about 2 months now. it didn't hurt at all to get it done, just a small pinch. since then, i haven't had any problems. clean it with antibacterial soap and/or a sea salt and water solution TWICE a day. no more, no less. good luck. xx
Ok I got my tummy pierced like a week ago now it doesn't hurt at all just clean it well with anti bacterial soap or sea salt and water solution everyday twice a day and it will be fine :)
Iv had mine done for about 11 weeks now. iv had no pain what so ever. the piercer said to use this spray stuff on it twice a day for TWO WEEKS and to shower morning and night and to clean away and icky gross stuff that comes out of it. since iv stopped using the spray, iv still got icky gooey stuff still coming out of it, is that just a part of the healing, or is it becoming infected?? it's not red or inflamed at all. hope someone can answer my question. lol :) cheers
also, iv noticed a smallish 'bump' like thing under the bottom hole.. it's a bit shiny, and kinda looks like a blood blister.. i called my piercer just before and said to come in so she can check it out properly and if it is the start of an infection they might have to pop it.. i'm like freaking out over it.. iv done everything i was supposed to :( just some advise to everyone who searches up for information on the web.. ; GO IN AND SEE THE PERSON WHO PIERCED YOU. looking at photos, and asking other people for answers might help.. but it needs to be looked at professionally. i'm going to see mine asap. take care :)

I need my belly button piercings repierced. Neither the top and bottom piercing took up enough skin. Although, their healed, I just don't like it. I just don't want to take them out long enough to let them heal for repiercing.
